We are working to facilitate pathways to sustainable employment and build a skilled Indigenous workforce in this vital sector.

This project is made possible through a partnership between the Native Council of Nova Scotia (NCNS) and Clean Foundation, funded by Government of Canada’s Skills and Partnership Fund (SPF).
The agreement runs from January 29, 2024, to March 31, 2026, and will support Indigenous Peoples both off-reserve and within First Nation Communities in Nova Scotia.
IEP Bursary
Grow Your Career in the Clean Economy: The Indigenous Energy Project (IEP) Bursary provides up to $10,000 for Indigenous Nova Scotians to pursue education, training, and tools that support their career aspirations in the clean economy.
Indigenous Wage Subsidy Initiative
Unlock Career Opportunities in the Clean Workforce: Our Indigenous Wage Subsidy Initiative supports the hiring of Indigenous job-seekers across Nova Scotia into meaningful and sustainable roles within the green workforce.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following to be eligible:

Self-identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis

Reside in Nova Scotia

Be age 15 and up

Apply for funding of up to $10,000 to support training programs,
certifications, and tuition-related costs, including
books and equipment.
Registration is now open for Fall 2025 micro-credential courses — Bridge to Construction and Solar Training — offered through NSCC. Apply today through the IEP Bursary Application.
